The Spring 2025 edition of the Lehigh Alumni Bulletin explores how Lehigh students are participating in robotics design at the new Freed Family Robotics Design Studio, including the development of a robotic monkey named Willy. The magazine highlights recent university achievements, such as the establishment of two new University Research Centers that focus on addressing critical needs and challenges in society. Also featured is Peter Luba ’22, co-founder of SmartPass, a digital hall pass system that’s used in more than 3,800 schools to manage student movement and increase safety. The issue provides a behind-the-scenes look at custom Lehigh University Pub tables that students crafted from downed trees and reclaimed beams salvaged during the remodeling of the Clayton University Center at Packer Hall.

The Freed Family Robotics Design Studio in Wilbur Powerhouse is Lehigh’s latest Design Lab where students can explore robotics design, complex movement, problem-solving and more.
