Lehigh University Returns to Normal Operations on Tuesday, February 24

Last Updated: February 23, 2026 at 2:30 p.m.

Lehigh University will return to normal operations and on-campus instruction and work on Tuesday, February 24.

While our crews have been working hard to clear paths and roadways, please continue to exercise caution during your commute and while moving across campus. Be mindful of potential snow and icy patches on pathways and roadways and dress warmly for the cold.

Your safety remains our top priority—please travel safely and take care of one another.

Safety Steps to Consider

As we navigate winter weather, we encourage you to consider a few proactive steps:

  • Carry your essentials: Keep your keys and Lehigh ID with you at all times. Lockout response times will be longer than normal during severe weather.
  • Secure your space: Close windows and doors tightly to conserve heat; un-plug non-essential electronics and ensure your primary devices are fully charged. For those with labs, review the Winter Storm Lab checklist for additional tips.
  • Commute with Care: Expect hazardous road conditions and avoid unnecessary travel. If you must head out, wear layers and shoes with strong traction. Plan extra travel time and follow the direction of local authorities.
  • Take care of one another: Alert LUPD if someone is in need of assistance. Remember the cold weather can intensify the effects of alcohol.
  • Pet Care: Limit your pet’s time outside and ensure you have a few days of food and any necessary medications on hand for them.
  • Gather supplies: Consider gathering the following items ahead of the storm:
    • 3-5 day supply of essential medicines
    • Basic first aid items
    • Flashlight and a charged power bank
    • Water and non-perishable snacks
    • Extra blankets and warm layers
