Lehigh Appoints Two New Members to Board of Trustees

Two new members joined the board of trustees and began their terms on July 1.

On July 1, 2026, Lehigh University appointed two new members to the board of trustees. Additionally, six trustees were reappointed and two retiring trustees were honored for their service.

Ellen Stone ’87 and Brita Turner ’04 began four-year terms as trustees. In addition, Jeffrey Bosland ’88 P’23, Paul A. Camuti ’83, Sandra Denton ’83, James H. Garrett Jr., Kendall B. O’Brien ’84 and Erika J. Smith ’99 have been reappointed for additional terms, beginning July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2030.

The board also expressed gratitude to retiring trustees Corey L. Harrison ’03 and Michele M. Scaringella ’90 for their dedicated service during their terms, which ended June 30, 2026.

Newly appointed chair James R. Maida ’85 P’17 P’19, who began his term on July 1, 2026, noted that he is eager to work alongside the recently appointed trustees.

“The board of trustees plays a vital role in advancing Lehigh’s mission and shaping its future,” said Maida. “I am excited to welcome these accomplished individuals to the board and look forward to collaborating with them as we build on the university’s momentum. Together, we will continue moving Lehigh forward and ensuring its long-term success.”

Ellen Stone ’87

Ellen Stone is an accomplished media and marketing executive who most recently served as executive vice president of brand marketing at NBCUniversal Cable. In that role, she led consumer marketing, social marketing, brand growth and innovation, and brand strategy for Bravo, E!, Oxygen, USA and SYFY.

As the leader of Bravo’s brand growth and innovation division, Stone helped launch profitable ventures and brand extensions, including BravoCon, the annual immersive fan experience, and initiatives supporting the network’s “Top Chef” franchise. She also oversaw groundbreaking digital marketing partnerships with platforms including Spotify, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. When Oxygen was added to her portfolio, Stone directed the network’s rebrand as a true crime destination and oversaw consumer marketing strategies that contributed to significant audience growth.

Earlier in her career, Stone served as director of consumer marketing at Lifetime Entertainment Services, where she managed off-air consumer marketing efforts for the television division.

Stone also demonstrated strong commitment to nonprofit leadership, serving as chair of the board for Jewish Women International. She was recognized as a “Wonder Woman” by Multichannel News, one of CableFAX’s “Most Powerful Women in Cable” and one of Jewish Women International’s “Women to Watch.” Her teams have earned awards in marketing excellence, including the CableFaxies, Mark Awards, Mobile Excellence Award, Digital Publishing Awards, Shorty Award and Promax/BDAs.

Stone previously served as a member of Lehigh’s College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council and remains involved with the university’s Soaring Together initiatives. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a minor in French from Lehigh.

Brita Turner ’04

Brita Turner is a Silicon Valley–based executive with more than 20 years of experience leading growth, transformation, and value creation across global technology, marketplace, and consumer businesses. She has built and scaled multibillion-dollar businesses, led enterprise transformation initiatives, and established new organizational capabilities spanning general management, corporate strategy, commercial operations, and mergers and acquisitions integration.

Turner currently serves as global head of strategic mergers and acquisitions integration at eBay, where she leads enterprise integration for strategic acquisitions and investments, partnering across executive leadership to accelerate commercial and operational value creation. Previously, she served as general manager of several multibillion-dollar businesses at eBay, with responsibility for strategy, profit and loss performance, marketplace growth, customer experience, and organizational leadership. Earlier in her career, she held executive leadership roles with Leesa, ProFlowers, Godiva, Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond, and IBM, building a broad foundation across consumer, technology, and digital commerce.

Throughout her career, Turner has been recognized for building organizations from the ground up, leading complex transformations, integrating acquisitions, developing high-performing leadership teams, and translating strategy into measurable business results. Her leadership spans enterprise strategy, marketplace economics, commercial growth, organizational design, and operational execution.

Beyond her executive responsibilities, Turner serves on Lehigh’s College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council. She previously served on the advisory board of Omni Bioceutical Innovations and as global president of Women@eBay, one of the company’s largest communities of inclusion, and was formerly a member of CHIEF. She is passionate about developing the next generation of leaders and advancing women in business and technology.

Turner earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Lehigh and a master of business administration from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School.
