College of Education Joins Discovery Education in Launching New Online Certificate for Educators

The new courses will integrate the expertise of College of Education faculty and Discovery Education's high-quality professional development content,

Lehigh University’s Graduate College of Education has launched a new online graduate certificate—Technology Leadership in Global Education—focused on supporting educators internationally.

Integrating the expertise of College of Education faculty and Discovery Educations high-quality professional development content, the courses will help participants hone their instructional practice in the remote learning environment. By launching the courses, the College of Education joins the Discovery Education’s Higher Education Network.

Discovery Education is a global leader in standards-aligned digital curriculum resources, engaging content and professional learning for K-12 classrooms.

The first course in the innovative online certificate, which is specifically designed for educators teaching in International School systems, will begin in March 2021. The course, Cognitive Theory and Technology Integration, provides teachers practical examples, strategies and frameworks for applying cognitive science and technology to improve student engagement and increase formative evaluation.

Additional courses include Trends and Innovations in Instructional Technology, Diversity and Multicultural Perspectives in Global Education, and School Leadership in the Digital Age. For more information about these courses or to register visit ed.lehigh.edu/tech-leadership.

Discovery Education’s Higher Education Network offers working K-12 educators online access to Discovery Education’s high-quality graduate-level professional learning content, which supports implementation of evidence-based, high-yield instructional strategies, helps improve student achievement and propels participants’ careers forward.
