At the end of July, the Patriot League released its 2024 preseason football poll, revealing that the Mountain Hawks were projected to finish sixth out of seven teams in the league.

The team defied the odds and captivated the university, and, for a moment, the NCAA’s FCS community. They not only captured Lehigh’s first Patriot League title since 2017 by beating rival Lafayette, but also recorded the university’s first playoff win since 2011. It marked just the sixth time in school history the team won a playoff game since Lehigh’s 1977 national title team.

Their run capped another busy and successful year across the university.

Lehigh made progress toward achieving the goals outlined in its long-term strategy, Inspiring the Future Makers. This fall, the strategy’s first progress report was released. Lehigh also established a University Research Center for Catastrophe Modeling and Resilience and welcomed leaders to campus ranging from Ukrainian Ambassador Sergiy Kyslytsya to Compelling Perspective speakers Katie Couric and Marty Baron ’76, ’76G, ’14H.

And then there were the annual Lehigh staples, including the International Bazaar, the Great South Side Sale and Rivalry Week.

Take a look back at some of the top photos from life at Lehigh in 2024.
