Jordan Wood ’21, a management major, is coming off a season for Lehigh wrestling in which he went 11-4 in dual competition, won 13 of his final 14 bouts and grabbed the number nine seed at the NCAA Championships, which were ultimately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite battling an injury and illness early in the season, he finished 17-5 overall, helping him earn Lehigh’s Coaches Award. He was named to the NWCA (National Wrestling Coaches Association) All-Academic Team and earned NWCA second team All-American honors along with an EIWA (Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association) Achievement Award.
Wood continues to dominate the EIWA Championships, taking home his third consecutive title at 285. He also placed fourth at the 2019 NCAA Championships.
The two-time All-American still has a year of eligibility remaining after deferring eligibility in his freshman year. That season, he represented the United States at 120 kg at the UWW Junior World Championships in Macron, France, while reaching the finals of the Midlands Championships, winning the title at the East Stroudsburg Open and being named Lehigh’s Deferred Eligibility Wrestler of the Year.
