Economics Professor Alberto Lamadrid discusses energy demand and the university’s ACES research center

Lehigh Valley News reported on the Feb. 26 broadcast of “A Community Conversation: The Data Center Debate,” which examined the growing interest in data center development across the Lehigh Valley and what it could mean for the region. The hourlong special, hosted by PBS39 and executive producer Brittany Sweeney, featured Alberto Lamadrid, economics professor at Lehigh University. Lamadrid discussed the economic and energy implications of data center growth and highlighted the university’s research through its Center for Advancing Community Electrification Solutions (ACES), which focuses on energy systems, infrastructure and community impact.
