Lehigh Appoints New Trustees for 2025-2026

Four new members joined the Board of Trustees and began their terms on July 1.

On July 1, 2025, Lehigh University appointed four new members to the Board of Trustees, reappointed a trustee and honored the service of a retiring trustee.

Christopher James “CJ” Fraleigh ’86 ’21P, Kenneth Frieze ’90, Dipti Gulati ’90 and Daniel Pietrzak ’97 ’28P began four-year terms as trustees.

Additionally, Vincent A. Forlenza, Jr. ’75 has been reappointed as trustee for another term, beginning July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2029. His term as Board chair was also extended for one more year.

The Board extended their gratitude to retiring trustee Ann Lewnes ’83 ’22P for her service during her term, which ended June 30.

Chair Vincent Forlenza ’75 noted that he is looking forward to working with the newly appointed trustees.

“The new trustees are poised to bring fresh perspectives to the Board of Trustees from a range of professional backgrounds,” said Forlenza. “They are highly accomplished in their careers, and they care deeply about the future of the university. I am honored to continue leading this group of distinguished individuals who are dedicated to Lehigh and its promising future, especially when institutions are facing a unique set of challenges within higher education.”

The new trustees are:

Christopher James Fraleigh

Christopher James “CJ” Fraleigh ’86 ’21P

Christopher James “CJ” Fraleigh is a partner at e2p, a private equity firm that focuses investments in the food sector. He has built a career as an investor and operating executive focused on building and leading consumer goods businesses.

Before co-founding e2p, Fraleigh led a variety of consumer businesses, including roles as chairman and chief executive officer of Shearer’s Foods, a leading contract manufacturer and private label supplier for the snack industry; chief executive officer of Sara Lee North America; general manager of GMC, Buick and Pontiac for General Motors Corporation; and vice president of colas at PepsiCo, where he started his career.

Fraleigh currently serves on the boards of e2p portfolio companies Bil-Jac Foods, MBC Companies, Sara Lee Frozen Bakery and World Food Holdings. He previously was an active investor and board member of Salm Partners, an e2p realized portfolio company, and non-e2p portfolio companies Nonni’s Biscotti, Gehl Foods, Darden, Sabre Holdings and Shearer’s Foods.

Fraleigh holds a bachelor of science in engineering from Lehigh and a master of business administration from Columbia Business School.

Ken Frieze

Kenneth S. Frieze ’90

Ken Frieze serves as chairman of the board at Gordon Brothers, a global investment firm focusing on retail, industrial, brand and real estate assets. He also serves as a member of the firm’s investment committee. Prior to his current role, he led Gordon Brothers as president and chief executive officer for a decade. Frieze also serves as chairman of the board of STAT Recovery, a retail revenue recovery firm.

Frieze has over 30 years of leadership experience in restructuring, investing, lending, appraisal, asset disposition and brand redevelopment. Before joining Gordon Brothers, Frieze was chief executive officer of RetailExchange.com, a management consultant with Bain & Company and a turnaround consultant with The Recovery Group, now part of Deloitte Corporate Restructuring Group.

He has held positions on several boards and is currently an American College of Bankruptcy Fellow. He previously served as a board member for Polaroid, The Sharper Image, A.C. Moore and Turnaround Management Association.

Frieze is active in the philanthropic world: he is a co-founder of the Boston Corporate Finance Community’s Gathers to Give event benefiting More Than Words and a former member of the Board of Trustees of The Carroll School, The Park School and American Jewish World Service.

He holds a bachelor of arts in economics, science and technology from Lehigh and a master of business administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dipti Gulati

Dipti Gulati ’90

Dipti Gulati is chief executive officer of Audit & Assurance, Deloitte & Touche LLP. Gulati leads more than 20,000 professionals and is responsible for driving quality outcomes that strengthen integrity and trust in capital markets. This includes a commitment to innovative and transformative audit and assurance services, high-quality client service excellence and nurturing high-performing teams.

With more than 30 years of experience, Gulati brings a leadership style rooted in transparency and inspiration. Within a highly regulated environment, she has served some of the largest global public companies, primarily in the financial services industry, and is recognized for her commitment to quality. She has held numerous leadership roles, including managing partner for the east region of Deloitte’s US Audit & Assurance business, and most recently served on Deloitte’s US board of directors and its risk and regulatory committee.

In 2025, Forbes named Gulati a best-in-state CPA in New York. She regularly engages with universities and industry organizations through her work, and previously served on the board of the United Way of New York City.

Gulati holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Lehigh and a master of business administration from Columbia University’s Columbia Business School.

Daniel Pietrzak

Daniel Pietrzak ’97 ’28P

A seasoned credit professional and leader, Daniel Pietrzak is a partner and global head of private credit at KKR, a leading global investment firm. Pietrzak joined the firm in 2016 and also serves as a portfolio manager for KKR’s private credit funds and portfolios.

Pietrzak is chief investment officer of the KKR/FS Investments joint venture and president and chief investment officer for FS KKR Capital Corp. (FSK), which trades on the New York Stock Exchange.

His career in finance started at Price Waterhouse in New York and included positions in the credit businesses of Société Générale and CIBC World Markets. Before joining KKR, Pietrzak was a managing director and the co-head of Deutsche Bank’s structured finance business across the Americas and Europe.

He serves on the board of directors of FSK and several KKR credit portfolio companies, including Pepper and Toorak Capital Partners, the advisory board of the Scholars of Finance and First Tee – Metropolitan New York. He also serves on the dean’s advisory council for Lehigh University’s College of Business.

Pietrzak holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Lehigh and a master of business administration in finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
