11.3.22: Operational Updates for Clayton University Center Renovation

A message sent to members of the Lehigh community from Don Pasda.

Dear Members of the Campus Community,

In recent weeks, students, faculty and staff have received information regarding operational adjustments and enhancements to dining to lay the groundwork for the approaching renovation of the Clayton University Center (Clayton UC). I am writing to share information about additional preparations that will be visible on campus in the coming weeks and looking ahead to the spring semester.

Fall Semester

The Clayton UC will remain fully open and operational until the conclusion of the fall semester. Dining and meeting spaces will remain available.

During the week of Nov. 14, fencing will be placed around the east parking lot adjacent to the Clayton UC on the Linderman Library side, and the entrances and exits on that side of the building will be closed in anticipation of site work beginning.

The map linked here notes these areas.

Spring Semester

Prior to students returning from winter break, fencing will be placed around the full perimeter of the Clayton UC, parking lots, and lawn areas, including the Clayton UC Lawn above and below Library Drive. Library Drive will be closed. Key areas will reopen as soon as possible as the project progresses. The map linked here notes these areas.

Our goal is to minimize the disruption to campus as much as possible throughout construction and thank you for your patience as we begin this exciting project.

In recognition of this momentous occasion, Student Affairs has planned a celebratory “send-off” tomorrow, Thursday, November 3 from 3 - 5 p.m. in the area of Library Drive, Franz Plaza, and the Lawn.

For more information please visit the Clayton UC project page, which will continue to provide operational updates.
