The Lehigh community recently celebrated significant steps in the university’s Path to Prominence—an ambitious plan to redefine the Lehigh student experience, enhance its historic core, expand its academic footprint and strengthen its research enterprise.

On Friday, Oct. 25, dignitaries gathered for the official groundbreaking for the new Health, Science and Technology Building—the future home of Lehigh’s College of Health.

That followed the opening in August of the new SouthSide Commons, which ushered in a new era of residential living at Lehigh; the opening of the new Lehigh dining café in the E. W. Fairchild-Martindale Library, and the opening of the new centralized location of the Center for Career & Professional Development in Maginnes Hall.

Lehigh also marked the reopening of the historic Chandler-Ullmann Hall, following a $31 million renovation project that created new classrooms, faculty offices, study rooms and student zones.

Other major building projects are the New Residential Houses (including the Hitch House and the Maida House), now under construction, and a planned renovation of the Clayton University Center at Packer Hall.

The projects are fueled by GO: The Campaign for Lehigh.
