Amy Weaver ’23P, President and CFO at Salesforce, to Deliver Address at Lehigh’s Graduate Commencement and Doctoral Hooding Ceremony

Weaver serves on Lehigh’s board of trustees and is an influential member of the community.

Amy Weaver ’23P, president and chief financial officer at Salesforce, the global leader in cloud-based software, and member of Lehigh’s Board of Trustees, will deliver the address at the 2023 Graduate Commencement and Doctoral Hooding Ceremony, part of Lehigh’s 155th Commencement Weekend.

“I am honored to be invited to speak and look forward to celebrating this year’s graduate and doctoral students,” Weaver said. “This ceremony is an important milestone as graduates prepare to embark on the next chapter of their lives, and I’m delighted to be a part of it.”

“I am so pleased Amy will deliver remarks to our community,” Lehigh President Joseph J. Helble ’82 said. “Her vision and leadership have been an invaluable resource to this university, and she is one of the most thoughtful leaders I have met in my career. I look forward to hearing her reflections, insights, and advice she will share with our graduates.”

An innovative vision for the future of tech

Since joining Salesforce in 2013, Weaver has helped grow the company into the world's leading provider of customer management software, with revenue of more than $30 billion, more than 70,000 employees in 19 countries, and grants of more than $600 million to nonprofits and educational organizations.

As President and CFO since 2021, Weaver leads the company's global finance organization, as well as government affairs, investor relations, internal audit, legal, and global communications, and she serves as a member of the company’s executive committee. Weaver was named one of the Top 50 Women in Technology by the California Diversity Council and one of the most Influential Women in Business in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times.

Previously, Weaver served in several roles at Salesforce, including president and chief legal officer, president of legal and corporate affairs, executive vice president and general counsel, and senior vice president.

In these roles, she drove many of the company’s strategic and operational initiatives, including championing Salesforce’s equal pay movement and assembling the global legal and corporate affairs departments.

Before joining Salesforce, Weaver was executive vice president and general counsel at Univar Solutions, and senior vice president and deputy general counsel at Expedia, Inc. She also practiced law at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, LLP and at Perkins Coie, LLP. She served as the Luce Scholar and legislative aid for the Hong Kong Legislative Council and as a judicial clerk on the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

A trusted leader in the Lehigh community

As a trustee, Weaver has served at Lehigh in many capacities. Her membership on board committees has been invaluable as she has lent her vision and leadership to the campus planning and operations committee; external engagement committee; nominating committee; public affairs committee; and the diversity, inclusion, and equity subcommittee. Her leadership and forward-thinking vision was pivotal as she sat on the presidential search committee that selected president Joe Helble ’82. She and her husband, Jeff Fisher, have sat on the parents council since 2019; they became co-chairs in 2020 and offered their leadership through the onset and height of the pandemic.

Additionally, she has shared her knowledge with Lehigh students. Samantha Walravens, adjunct professor at Lehigh@NasdaqCenter, hosted Weaver as a guest speaker in her “Women in Tech & Innovation” course in 2022. Walravens interviewed Weaver on leading with kindness and authenticity and wrote about it for Forbes. Weaver also spoke at Lehigh@NasdaqCenter’s Startup Academy, an immersive academic program that connects students with full-time internships at startups, in 2021.

In addition to serving on Lehigh’s board of trustees, Weaver is a member of the board of directors at McDonald’s Corporation and Habitat for Humanity International, as well as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She is a frequent speaker at the World Economic Forum.

She holds a juris doctor degree from Harvard Law School and a bachelor of arts from Wellesley College. She is a member of The Phi Beta Kappa Society.
